Learn the art of permanent makeup from a highly trained
AAM Board Certified Instructor and Member Trainer of the SPCP,
Jenice Hickman. As the premier instructor in the Carolinas, her
small classes, which consist of no more than 2 students, ensure that
each student receives a high level of personal one-on-one training.
Jenice, owner of Dermagraphics by
Jenice in Cary, NC, has been practicing the art of permanent
makeup for nine years and has continued to hone her skills with the
latest continuing education and a thriving practice.
"I'm
very excited about some upcoming changes in the AAM with a
'certification' exam that new students will be able to take after
completing their initial training course. Prior to this, the AAM
only offered the Board Certification Exam / Credential after one
year of practice. With this new exam, AAM student members will be
able to add a 'certified' credential to their resume. The SPCP
initiated a Certified Permanent Cosmetic Professional Exam in 2004,
which awards the technician the title of CPCP. For further
information, go to the SPCP website (www.spcp.org) and find the
Certification link under the "Info for Technicians'
section.

As
the first woman to become Board Certified in Micropigmentation in
North Carolina (AAM), I feel very strongly that this certification
is a 'must have' when you are looking for a technician. It
demonstrates the commitment of the technician to uphold the highest
standards in the industry, and validates that they have reached a
level of expertise that is respected by other experts in the field!
I also believe that Continuing Education is key to staying
up-to-date. I actively participate in bi-annual conventions and
Advanced Workshops.
One
of my clients summed it up quite well when she asked her doctor what
to look for in selecting a Derma-Technician and was told "look for
someone with Board Certification and who is active within their
professional organizations."
